I have a Streamlight PT2L in transit that will be here on this Tuesday. This light requires CR123a batteries. I was thinking that I could just buy some RCR123a's and call it a day.

After reading several threads on here, including several in the FAQ for this subforum, I have more questions than ever.

1. Can this light use RCR123a's without being damaged?

2. Will RCR123a's fit without modifying the light?

3. What brand should I use?

I see that many of you recommend "AW" but I am having a hard time finding an AW RCR123a battery and charger package. Links would be much appreciated.

Got PT-2L for about a week now. Using 2 x 3.0v Protected Rechargeable for a couple of charges already. Do not find any problem, but runtime is only half of primary 123a, perhaps from the lower mAh. I normally use rechargeables in all my flashlights, only need to match the voltage capacity of the bulb.

That's good news! How do you like the light? Do you think it will do well in a breast pocket?

My work clothes can take it comfortably, but using the provided holster on your belt is more convenient. I like the focused beam of it. I never had a chance to drop it on the ground, but since it has a guarantee, a kind of good relief, though. Make sure that you use " 3.0v " rechargeable :)

Oh, I will. I can only imagine what colors of smoke will come out of the end of that light if I use the 3.7 volt cells.

I don't like belt holsters, the PT2AA fits nicely in my breast pocket on my work shirt and I don't see this one being too much bigger so I should be good to go!

I just want that nice output!
