Hello, I have a Streamlight SL-20 rechargeable that I purchased years ago with the intent on getting it working again. The part where the charging is broken and does not charge and it will need a new battery. Question is; is it worth fixing is there a place that anyone could recommend to send it to to get it fixed? Thanks.

these are great lights but parts are expensive. try to find a repair place near you and see if they can replace it under warranty. and for bulbs, check around online. the streamlight battery can be had for about 35 on amazon i believe but hopefully more experienced members can chime in as i'm still a noob :)

I have one of those and I love it. Has saved my butt may times. If the charger sleeve is the problem for not charging, I have fixed a few of them. If it is where it charges in the light it is probably just a matter of adjusting the tang. You can still buy switches fro about $ 12 a bulb for $ 14 and a battery for anywhere from $ 14 to $35. Youcan still send it back to streamlight to get fixed.

Although they are outdated and dim, they are still a good multi-purpose light. You can get excellent service from a Streamlight Service Center, or buy the parts you need on the big auction site. I have several similar lights. Some really old, some fairly new. Some have Texas law enforcement engraving, some are just scratched. Being old gives good character to your light. I have three that I use when I work on the car. They've been on chargers for YEARS!.
