Anyone knows if you can fit the TL-3 head/bezel into the TL-2 body? Would the 5W-LS TL-3 run on 2x123 and the 1W-LS TL-2 runs at longer runtime under 3x123? Are these Luxeons regulated?

No, none of what you're describing is workable. Maybe you could use the TL2 as a host for a 5 watt LED with a converter board, but that's completely different than plopping a TL3 head onto it. And it would be kind of a pointless mod since you could just buy a Surefire L4 or L5 instead, or use a McLux PR head or whatever.

Paul, I was in wishful thinking that TL-series lights have interchangeable heads, hoping much like SFs. Too bad, as they may had the chance to make them modular. But would TL-2L LED has interchangeable head with TL-2L Incandescent?

I don't think you can swap the heads between the TL2 xenon and LED, but I'm less sure of that.

I'm not crazy about either the TL2 or TL3 LED versions, but that's just me--some people do like them. I'd say if you want a Luxeon light you're better off with a regulated one, e.g. Arc LS or Surefire L4. The xenons are a better bet. I have a TL3 and it's great.

Yep, the heads/bezels interchange fine (TL-2 LED, and TL-2 Xenon).

Same with the TL-3 LED, and TL-3 Xenon.

FWIW, my TL-3 LED is my first 5-watt LED, and I'm very happy with it. Blows away all of my 1-watt LS LED lights and drop-ins. I'm not sure it is worth the $100-120 that some dealers are asking for it, but I was able to pick it up for $85, and I'm happy with it for that price. If I wouldn't already have several 2 and 3 cell 123 incan and LS LED lights, I'd definitely be picking up the other lights in the Streamlight TL line.

Neon, you would not regret getting some anyway. I own multiples of the TL series, and really like them.

I even sold/traded my remaining SF 6Ps, and 9Ps (gasp), and replaced them with the TL-2s, and TL-3s
