Streamlight TT 1L Mod

I would like to replace the incandescent with a 1w luxeon. Is this something a novice could do or should I have somebody experienced from this board do it?

you and me both! the only person i've seen do this so far is McGizmo and that was with the Xenergy 2L and he swapped in a side emitter. He also did the mod to the tailcap which I also would love to have done.

this has been tossed around before--TT 1 is not a great candidate for an LS cuz' there's not enough real estate for a properly heatsinked luxeon without ripping the shoe reflector apart ...

you could probably drop a high output red-orange 5mm LED in there and have a night-vision light ...
