Has anyone bought one of these yet? Botach is having a sale on them (I know about botach, lets stay on topic, hehe) I was interrested in the 2 cell and 1 cell lithium versions...They have the 2 cell lithium for $29 and the 1 cell for $21. Seams like a good price, any beam shots I may have missed that have been posted?

Hopefully these will be at the Atlanta blade show, and I can play with them, seams like good competition to the A2, I know its not digital, but with lithium, thats not all that important anyway... Water Resistant with an o-ring seal, cool!

How about the 3AA luxeon star version? For $33, how does it compare to a Reactor 3?

Ok, i just saw all the posts in the review section, so I'll go read that, still excited about streamlights...

There are some beamshots here on Quickbeam's site, beamshot comparisions Also some reviews.

I have the 2L and like it. Brighter than my Newbeam although it is known to never have fresh batteries in it. It also has a broadish beam with the xenon. Runs for about 2+ hours in xenon and it doesn't get as hot compared to brighter shorter running lights.

Good fit and finish the "titanium" finish looks cool./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have a 3c due in the mail tommorrow, if you want I can try to post some pictures

Check the Reviews Forum for reviews and runtime plots for the Twin Task lights.

I have several of them and and an M6 (Peli) on the way from BrightGuy for the same price (maybe 5 cents cheaper and much less "challenging" to deal with than Botach (though they filled my last order just fine ...

Priority Mail--thought they might be in today ... DARN!

I got my twintask 3c in the mail a few days ago. It is a piece of crap in my opinion. Subpar on everything and nothing on it is "great". Just a jack of all trades flashlight specializing in being a piece of crap. I am sending it back to brightguy

I would love to find out what you think is subpar; fit, finish, knurling, threading ?

I find mine superb, and I have four TT's plus the Lux.

the Twin Tasks are a compromise as far as the LED-incandescent combo concept--they don't throw as far due to the compromises inherent in trying to provide two brightness/battery life options well

that said, if you can only carry one light, I think they're pretty slick, especially considering the price. I can't think of anything else in my stable that has comparable workmanship for the $$

my 2 cents

I agree with Hideo--the light itself isn't the best, but for the money I wasn't expecting the best. However, I do think that this may be one of the best built lights (if not the best) that I have ever handled. These things are incredibly well-built and I will be buying more soon.

Pal251--I'd also like to hear you expand a little on your post.

pal251 -

I'm curious too. What specifically didn't you like about it? Unfortunately "piece of crap" and "subpar on everything" isn't very descriptive. I'm not trying to be a jerk here, don't take me wrong. I'm really interested in the specifics of what you didn't like. What are you comparing it to? You're making me wonder if I missed something in my reviews.

TIA!

I have to say that I am a little suprised by Pal's opinion as well. I have a Luxeon Tasklight that I am quite pleased with, and two of the local guys here have the 2L and 3C versions and we are all quite pleased with them. They are all perfectly machined and rock solid. They are not the brightest or longest running lights that I have ever played with, but for the money I think that it is very hard to go wrong with them.

I sympathize with pal. A three C light is a big light, with not much more performance (except runtime) than their 1 or 2 cell lithium lights. BIG lights need big performance. My 3 c is destined to have 4 L's and a 20 watt MR16. The only other c's I have are SN2's. Send it back Get the 1 or 2 lithium ($21.00 for the single!). Or get my new favorite 3 AA one watt luxon star with a Ram Instrument on/off switch.

Some of us want decent runtime and the ability to use inexpensive alkaline batteries. Besides, the 3C isn't that big.

I bought the 1L and the 2L and find both different than any of the other lights that I own. Previously, I looked for throw and brightness, as the two most desirable factors. However, after viewing these twin task lights i'm slowly changing my mind. Especially the 2L, offering a reasonably bright, widely dispersed beam which a large bit of spill light to give a much larger viewing area than say a surefire E2E. Of course these aren't major differences but minor ones. You still can't beat the E2E for brightness and throw in a edc, small package. But for 1/2 the price the twin task 1L and 2L offer a compromise of sorts, and an appealing one at that, twin power options and enough light in a small package. The thing that makes my E2E and ARC LSH-P so nice is that they are small and can fit in both my front pockets. The SL Twin task lights don't fit so well and would require a pouch. Enough of my ramblings for a bit, but I do want to say, neither are pieces of crap, or anything else, they are just different and in some ways more attractive than the ones some people find to not be crap. Is this the surefire syndrome at work again, anything not surefire or arc is crap, I hope not.
