Ahem...

How do I determine the polarity of my new lux3 emitter?

Also, when hooking it up do I solder to both the long and short conductor on each side of the unit. That's the way my 650lux3 sandwich looks like it is setup.

If you have just a bare emitter, the + side will have a tab with a hole in it and the - side will have a tab with a notch. If you have an emitter that was popped off a star, the + side has a slightly longer tab than the - side. It's not a very distinct difference. You can hook up your leads on each side to either the tab or the "leg" or both.

Just in case:

The + lead is on the left and the - is on the right. On an emitter popped off the star, the tabs will be about the same length as these, but won't have the hole/notch.

Looks like a colour lux since I don't see the yellow phosphor /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
