I need a 2xAA light that is:

-less than $30 US
-multiple modes (at least hi and low to save battery)
-dedicated to 2xAA
-more focused on throw than spill
- >100 lumens on hi
- >2 hr on hi and >12 hr on low

if there is a 3xAAA that fits this post it please

thanks in advance

+1 on that, i got my Romisen RC-N3 II Q5 a while back and love it to bits. On top of being a great 2xAA light, you can also use it as a 1xCR123 or 1xRCR123 light

You might want to add $30 and wait for the Eagletac P20A2. According to specs, this should be a great 2AA light.

I got a cheap flashlight as my first one and it broken withing 3 days.

my first flashlight was an Ultrafire C3 with 2xAA extension tube bought more than 2 years ago and its still working fine, banged up and scratched up but still going strong.

Those days the C3 was good. Today... :green:

think it depends on luck, ordered another C3 but no extension tube and was quite disappointed, light flickered and i just couldnt take a chance on it so its sitting at home right now. The new SS C3s are good though, ordered 2 and no disappointment.

I own two C3's from that era, and unless some strange laws of physics are at work, they are every bit as good today as they were then. Excellent regulation, simple UI, moderate brightness single mode, still uses a current generation emitter.

They still make excellent loaner/beater lights.

Seems in last months (maybe 1 year or so) the build quality is very poor, the qc inexistent and the last drivers (they "upgraded" them) less efficient.

Its not the first time I came across some review with an edit like: "I cannot longer recommend this light". By reading through DX comments/forums you can see they used to be better in the early days.

hmmmmm

or u can jus get a solarforce L2 with an cr123a extension , then use 2 x aa batteries in it, like me :D

u will get 200 lumens++ though ....... :(

and slightly above us$30 where solarforce host + solarforce bulb (3v to 18v) + solarforce cr123a extension ....
