I got my Blaster II almost a week ago, been carrying it with me evey night at work since and I love it. After a little time carrying it around I thought I would make a couple of suggestions for possible ways to improve the design if you do any further modifications to it.

Move the button back slightly further from the head, and/or recess the button a little more. I have a ring style carrier similar to what police use that fits the Blaster II almost perfectly, but I noticed that the button rubs a bit more than I like when putting the light in or taking it out, and when its resting on my hip it turned on by itself once from the ring hitting the switch.

Make the momentary off a little less sensitive, barely touching the switch when the light is on triggers the momentary off, not a huge deal, just enough to be annoying sometimes (the above suggestions might make this less of an issue, if the button was recessed a little more it probably wouldnt be so touchy)

Other than that its pretty much perfect from what I can tell so far.

Keep up the awesome work

Aeryk,

It's nice to hear the Blaster with the 'Slim-head' fits the ring carrier.

Switches will probably be changed to a momentary on, like a Maglite. The lastest Blaster V are this way. All the others are still the same switch as you have. I noticed the new switch isn't as sensitive. Anyway, owners of the Blaster V will notice the new switch. A few of the first produce Blaster V still have the older switch.

To move the switch back farther would mean to lengthen the flashlight, which I'm hesitant to do. The shorter the better. You'll notice the Blaster VI is shorter than most 2D flashlights. It will accomodate two D cells, if ever a 1W would be desired to be used. A red could be used direct drive, or a 1W white and a regulator, like a micropuck. Don't know if 3 C cells will fit, I doubt it.

To move the switch back would mean retooling, which would be very expensive to do. Probably won't happen.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was surprised to see this thread here.

Wayne,

My ring carrier wasnt originally designed to be a flashlight carrier, its original purpose was actually meant to be a sword carrier, its a bit smaller diameter than the typical Mag carriers used by LEOs, works pretty well for my Blaster II, althought I may make a new one using a non-metal ring to protect the finish on my Blaster.

The switch thing isnt a major issue, just a thought on possible ways the light might be improved upon if you do any more design changes. I can completely understand the retooling and such being cost prohibitive, just thought I would mention it for consideration.

I wasnt entirely sure about the ettiquette for making suggestions so I thought I would just post it here so anyone else who might have suggestions could chime in as well, more feedback is one of the best ways to continue to improve your products and services /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Keep up the awesome work, I plan on ordering either a Blaster V or VI as soon as my finances allow it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
