Suggestions for these? *beamshots added*

I just found these in the closet--have no idea how old they are but they've never been opened. The two burgundy/red ones are 3D, and the two black are 2D. I'd appreciate suggestions on what to do with them. I'd like something easy since my technical skills leave much to be desired. Is the Everled my best bet? Thanks.

Everled is a posibility although in my opinion the output isn't that great. Inretech has some nice adapters that are bright and just plug-in. Then there is my favorite the 5w mod which gives the best brightness.

Those 2D Mags could take a Versalux PR-2 LED bulb. I actually perceive it as brighter than my Arc LSH-S. Hard to believe, I know, but that is what my eyeballs tell me. Versalux PR-2 is available from www.techass.com

That brighter than the Arc LSH-S is only in my 2D Mag. Most likely due to the reflector and extremely tight focus. I did a side by side comparison on the wall this morning, and it was surprise to me.

I have been thinking about a Mr. Bulk mod since he's so close to home, but he seems like he's got a lot on his plate. (Don't worry, no pakalolo for me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ).

That Versalux looks pretty interesting and it's a nice price--how does it compare to the everled?

The Inretech stuff looks good too (the Trilight and Super 6, right?), but a bit on the expensive side. I would think that for that price a Mr. Bulk mod might be more worthwhile? Is it a complete replacement head/bezel, or is it a drop-in?

I have to admit, I don't know the first thing about modding, so I wouldn't even know where to begin if it isn't a drop-in/idiot proof type thing. I do appreciate the help, guys.

Hey ZenG,

If you want to do a super bright incandescent mod, come on over and we can have the 2D finished in about five minutes as I have all the needed parts (including hi-performance bulb) right here.

For a Luxeon mod, you might have to spend the better part of a day here though...or drop it off (but then I have to charge you labor!).

PaulW I agree with you, I know I could learn more about LED's than I ever thought was posible. Heck, in six emails MBulk really opened my eyes and is achieving unbelievable things with LED's. Now I can't wait for my NexNeedle & SpaceNeedle II to get here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just got back from Mr. Bulk's house and am playing with my new Space Needle as I type. Man, I absolutely love this thing! I can't wait for night to try these babies out.

I gotta say, Mr. Bulk is a terrific guy. He answered all of my newbie questions and really went out of his way to help me. freewheelin'--I know where you're coming from since I just told him that I learned more from the few hours with him than I did in the past month. I still have so much to learn, though.
