Sunwayman D40A Neutral white or not?

In the giveaway thread, they refer to the D40A as neutral white. Is the current version considered neutral or is there a neutral version coming? Also, how does the warmness of the current D40A compare to the Nitecore EA4W ?

The current version is Cool White (CW), they are thinking about making a Neutral (NW) version.

Yeah, they did a giveaway for the cool white version previously, and now just did a giveaway with the neutral version. In the past, if they were giving away some sort of limited edition or something they made it clear it was a limited edition, so my guess would be that they plan to also make the neutral D40A regularly available.

That is what it says according to their forums here, Ive also asked them through PM.

Been following the news about this as close as I can but I don't think I've seen a post by SWM that spells it out directly. Care to share the gist of your PM? Like dates maybe?

How is it output wise? It's a nominal 980 which seems to be strange since the CW version has the same nominal value.

Still waiting for Singpost to deliver it. It has been 14 days so probably another week .. or two.

It is entirely possibly that the output is the same depending on what they used. A CW T5 is the same as the NW T5. I think they used a U2 though in the CW. Anyway the specs say up to 980 lumens.

How is the tint?

Check the other D40A thread, there are some opinions about it in there.

I just ordered a NW D40A yesterday, should be here next week. I read somewhere the bin is 3B. If so, it should have a nice tint.

P.S.: tint bin 3B is what I would have guessed, for my sample.
