We spent yesterday afternoon and (more importantly) evening at my wife's family reunion, out in the country. She's got a fun family with lots of children.
At 9pm the kids wanted to use the pool for the third time that day but it was unlit. Somehow /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I brought along my SuperPeli Light, so I gave it to my daughter to try in the pool. That one light turned out to be sufficient for safe swimming as the brightly colored pool walls reflected plenty of light. The Peli was under water for most of the 1 & 1/2 hours they were swimming and the water helped to disperse the beam even more.
The kids kept throwing the light into the pool from the raised platform and then dived for it on the bottom. I guess it's a good thing the light is "dive" rated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
After the children were finished using the light, I showed it to a few of the guys and had them compare it to their 2D & 3D M^gs. The super tight SuperPeli spot put the throw of the M^gs to shame, even with a total of 2.5 hours on the C cells.
They were all questions, wanting a better, brighter, lighter, alternative to their heavy M^gs for deer hunting and fishing. After they asked where the SuperPeli could be purchased, I told them and then whipped out the TL-3...
It isn't often an flashaholic gets to show off, so it was fun to see their innocent faces react to REAL flashlights. A fun time was had by all.
