SureFire 123\'s delayed shipment

Just a heads up...

I called SureFire yesterday to order some 123's and was told that due to "unprecedented demand" they will not be able to ship my order until Friday 2/21/03. They seem to be getting a new shipment in then.

I wonder who is causing the "unprecedented demand?"

Well I ordered 72 a week ago last Friday and received them the end of last week. When I first placed my order, I thought only the case price was on sale which is why I ordered 72. Unless I ever buy an M6, I'm good for two years.

Mine is delayed in a different way - since of the "ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS" UPS is giving me an excuse.

I placed an order on their website yesterday-- $21.95 spent at Wal-Mart would give me 4 cells and some change-- but I'm getting 12, delivered to my workplace. I imagine that with SF's low price, no wonder there's a huge demand. I just hope the Duracell M3's in my Legend LX can hold out until the SF's are delivered...

I ordered 72 on Feb. 11 - UPS delievered them Feb. 18.

I asked this on the strategos forum but haven`t recieved firm confirmation so I ask here:

Will the SF battery price stay at $15 from now on? Or is this a special offer from SF that will be withdrawn later? From the email I recieved I would interpret the price is here to stay.

Al?, or anyone in the know. Can you confirm this? or should I just go grab some while the offer is up, I already have plenty (70+)but a low price is too good to pass up.

Will our favorite online dealers going to have them at discounted prices also? or is it only SF direct?

What do you think?

When I spoke with tech support at SF about the B-90 problem I asked about the 123's, I was told that the new lower price is a permanent price.

Now if I could just get my replacement B-90's

Guess I'll see how the Copia Lithium Ion set for the G-2 works out.

Update on battery shipment

I posted on 2/18 that SureFire was going to delay my 123 battery shipment until 2/21 due to "unprecedented demand."

On 2/21 I called SureFire to check if the batteries had been shipped. They informed me that they were shipped on 2/19.

ShureFire service is better than expected.

I ordered a box early in the week.
They charged my card on friday so I am guessing the battery's are on the way.
