Surefire AZ2-S & Stratum Discontinued???

It says on the Surefire website that these two lights have been Discontinued, the strange thing to me is I did not think these two surefire lights were very old and they have been Discontinued,... what the heck???

It is a bit weird. Perhaps they just weren't selling?

I can't believe they discontinued the L1. So I stocked up.

I picked up 2 Stratums, one when they first came out and then one a couple of months ago at a much better price. I love the 3 speed, rare for Surefire I think. However, to release the 6PX Pro at a much lower price shortly thereafter, maybe a bad timing issue...who knows. They're still very cool and of course Surefire top quality and glad to have in my collection

Pehaps anotehr sign that some of the new products within their catalogue are close to release, although I think future prices may reflect theee rapidfire changes as well. I would love one or two of the upcoming lights but I believe they will be well outside of my expense limit.

I have to admit, the AZ2-S being on clearance was the kick in the pants I needed to order one. Strobes generally make me feel ill, but for $150, I will just try to not accidentally activate it. :)

I already have a Stratum, and love it... I did scratch the head trying to take it off before I realized it was glued on. :(
