Since the SureFire E2D Defender is supposed to be a TID, is it safe to assume that it is equipped with a shock isolated bezel? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Would make sense... But, the shock of you hitting the bezel against muscle, flesh, or bone is probably a lot less than the recoil of a firearm tho.

One of the options of the ScoutLight WeaponLight uses the E2e bezel. The MN03 lamp is very robust. When was the last time you read anywhere online or heard of one failing?

Can one get a E2 Defender bezel for the L4?

When is the M3 with impact bezel going to be out?

Even though the MN03 lamp is considered robust, a shock isolated bezel will give it additional protection, especially when it is used as a TID. You don’t want to use the light as a TID at the cost of a lamp assembly. I guess it wouldn’t be a bad trade-off, if the light was your last line of defense.

As for the new M3, it was released early this month. Meridian Tactical had a few, but I’m assuming that they’re all gone. Email Chris just to make sure. As a last resort, I think it is available on ebay. Surefireparts is also auctioning off a new M3 bezel right now.

Aren't the shock-isolated bezels generally a good amount bigger than their non-shock-isolated counterparts? Given the fact that the whole point of the E2 is the form factor, the fact that the MN03 does seem robust, and the fact that if you're using it as a TID things have gone pretty critical already, I think it's a sound decision to keep the current form factor even if it means not shock-isolating the bezel.
