Surefire E2D

I picked up a lightly used Surefire E2D and I found something rather odd about it. The glass lense is not flat but round. Makes me wonder when they changed the design on the bezel? Any surefire history buffs, I am ready to pull up a chair with cocoa to listen.

I think they started out rounded and the switched to flat lens. But my memory is crap any more 😁

I think that was used very early on and then they switched to the standard flat lens. I just picked up an early E2D also with domed lens.

I have no idea. Doesn't seem to be any difference in the beam compared to a flat lens.

Yup. There have now been at least 4 generations of the E2D.

I guess that would make sense. This one that I got has more of a purple/black bezel and tailcap. The body is definitely black in color.
