Hello all, I had bought a SF L5 back in December and the body had knicks on them so I had to send it back for "warranty repair"....well I finally got my light back today, a total of 5 months without my L5!!! They decided to replace a totally new one, however here is my problem, the clickie is very hard to press like how the first L4s were hard to press and second, the reflector has a freakin' fingerprint in it........should I AGAIN return it? This is getting really tiring!

I think you really have two issues here:

The Z58 Clickie will be easier and faster to have replaced on it's own I'm sure.

If the beam of the KL5 is not troubled by the marks on the bezel then is it a problem for use? If it is important to you then you'd better get it sorted out. As you have experienced, the KL5 is in high demand and short supply.

My L5 has a nasty fingerprint on the reflector, too, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect the beam. What serial number do you have? Maybe they were assembled by the same person on the same afternoon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Mine is A00053.

Well, it's going back to Surefire. This has costed me a total of $30 USD of shipping costs to date and reaching 6 months of my time without the L5. I'm a patient person but what I don't like about SF's supposetly world class customer care, is that they've always had the attitude of "too bad for you" when dealing with me, maybe I'm too passive when speaking to them. I never seem to get those "great care" that people rave about here, I mean a simple "we are trying our best to resolve your RMA" would be nice to hear.......

Mark2: My original L5's bezel was actually A00060 and I had requested them to keep the bezel and clickie as the I believed I won the Luxeon lottery with that bezel with it's brightness and really good white beam, and the clickie was butter smooth. There were no fingerprints nor dust in that bezel, I was really happy with that bezel. It was just the body that had problems. Maybe I should've scanned the fingerprint and match it with yours and catch the culprit :P

Anyway, the waiting game continues...and for SF's claim as world class customer care...I've seem to have much better experience dealing with Pelican, Future Electronics, Nikon etc.

What the?! 5 months huh?! That's a LONG time! I wonder how you managed to get through it. Well I had to check on mine to look for the nasty fingerprint, and lucky me not fingerprint but some dust and I can live with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
