Surefire M3LT availability discussion

I just got a response from Surefire regarding the M3LT's release date - they are planning on 09 December, 2009. Now, I don't know if this means they will have more info available on that date, or if the light will be shipping to dealers, or if they'll actually start production then - who knows - but I can hope!

Dear Joe,

The release date for the M3LT will be available Dec 9, 2009. Thank You

The SureFire M3 with a 4-die LED (think MCE or P7) with a turbohead. So a big reflector.

Think 350+ lumens that is throwy.

I'm debating getting the M3L or the AZ2, so I guess the M3L will have to come out with the M3LT. I hope one comes out before the other so I can just get it and not have to make such a hard decision.

"what is the M3LT"

Until you have one in your hands it might as well be a unicorn or sasquatch. Surefire's credibility in releasing new products is not their best attribute.

What will the run time be???

3 batteries:

Press for momentary low, press all the way for momentary high. Twist a little for constant on low, twist more for constant on high.

High: 350 lumens
Low: 60 lumens

Tactical Runtime: 7 hours
Total Useful Runtime: 12 hours

SureFire considers tactical level light output for an LED to be 50 lumens.

You figure it out because I can't lol.

I'm assuming around an hour and a half on high before you see a change in brightness.

On low it would be much longer.

What is the difference between the "t" and non "t" models??

T = Turbo Head
Non-T = None Turbo Head

The Turbo Head uses a TIR optic.

Turbo head gives you a tight beam. Just like any large, deep reflector would.

It doesn't have reflector, it is a huge TIR optic! Just imagine the DEMONIC throw that beast will have....

MY GOD!

I hadn't payed any attention to the T model because I don't need massive throwers, but after looking at the catalog again, you're right!

I'm going to have a really hard decision now. I love the TIR beam, drooooooooooooool.

Same as on the SureFire M3 and M3T. T is for Turbohead, the other is the standard M3 bezel. Except that they are 2-stage LED lights with optics instead of traditional reflectors.

The M3L uses a reflector according to the catalog. Not sure if anything has changed.

I think, and hope, it's before Christmas!

Maybe I might be able to get one just in time for National Flashlight Day on December the 21:party::twothumbs

Wow, quad die in a TIR turbo head by SureFire. That'll be insane. Especially at SF rated lumens, which will be like 600 "normal" lumens. LOL

I love my current M3T for its throw, can't wait to see the latest generation LEDs in that monster.
