Surefire M3T or M4 with Pilas

I'm thinking of getting either an M3T or M4 and making it rechargeable. I saw the thread about two 168s's working in a 12ZM with N62, so wouldn't the same cells power an MN60 or MN61? Can you put an MN61 in an M3T and power it with two 150s's?

Also, can two 168s's power an MN21 (M6 HOLA)? The M3T, M4, and M6 heads are the same right? So that means any their LA's are interchangeable? Thanks.

MN15 and MN16 work in the MT3 with 2 150's with a spring They will also work in the M4 with 2 168's. I like running 3 168's in the M4 with 2 A19 adapters and the M4 lamps MN60 and MN61 I have not tried running the MN21 in a M3T with 150's or in the M4 with 2 168's sounds like it would work however the lamps are not cheap. Oh the N2 works well with 150's or 2 168's

I did some tests with the M4/168s Pila setup, but i cant find the danged thread.

Both the M4 lamps gave a much lower lux reading than when using SF123s and colour was a good deal yellower too. I suspect the bulbs were fairly under driven and would not recommend this.

I didnt have any 3 cell SF incans to test the 150s. Perhaps an M3 lamp in the M4 with 2x 168s is the way to go, as the voltage is a much closer match.

The 3 168s in the M4 with 2 a19's is real deal blinding light. trying to work up the nerve to pull the 500 Lumen out of the M6 to see what happens in the M4 with 2 168s Pila's I need to figure out what I need to run 3 150s in the SF M4 maybe the A14 adapter?? Two 168s Pila's will not work well with the M6 HOLA, and I would not recommend it since the current draw will be in excess of 4A. If you can find high capacity Li-Ions, it will work OK. I tried two 18650 2000mAH bare cells with the M6 HOLA and it put a big grin on my face. It's just as bright, maybe a bit more, than using six 123's. It does draw 4.3A so it's pushing the Li-Ions hard. Li-Ions with capacities of 2400mAH are now available and these may work better. I tried two 168s's with the HOLA and I got a somewhat yellow light output.

Where can I get those Li-Ions with 2400mah+? An 18650 has a diameter of 18mm. Will I need to bore out an M4 body? Where can I get a charger for that?

I would stick with Pilas unless you know what you are doing. Bare Li-ions can be dangerous.

I run a C3 with the P90 or P91 on two 150s cells. It is a daily carry light. Sometimes the switch gets picky on how far it has to be tightened. My M3T will not turn on with 150s. I think it's because the cells are too short /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Blikbok, do you have that special spring that is needed with the M3&pilas? That could be a reason it's not working correct.

I have to use the extra spring with the SF M3T I think that a spring is always needed with the 150s in SF lights

I don't own Pilas but from reading though other posts I think that the spring is only needed with the M3 or M3T due to different LA spring setup in the Millenium Lights compared to the P90/91. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif I could be wrong though. ;D

Bilkbok>If ya need springs, I can get ya some...No charge. The C3, 9z, and some others do not need to spring, the M series 9volt lights need the spring.
