Is there a reason why Surefire doesn't make Nitrolon 5 watt luxeon LED's?

I am going to guess and say it would be because of thermal release with Nitrolon

Thermal reasons, probably.
Nitrolon does not dissipate heat nearly as well as aluminum does. And 5 watt Luxeons have a lot of heat to get rid of.
Having the heat build up in a Nitrolon body can't be very good for the poor, innocent little LED inside. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
