Could someone with a SF Fury tell me if they will accept a 18650 with out being modified to do so, I searched and could not find the answer.

No Surefire accepts an 18650, they are built for primaries, may accept a 17670 though. I don't know if the lights really run on one cell and how long they do, the 2-cell are built for 2 x CR123A, beware of 2 x RCR123 if you're not sure it accepts 8,4V.
I run mine on primaries only, for the rest I have some marvellous hosts from Oveready with dropins from Nailbender and Malkoff, these run perfectly on an 18650, but there's not much "Surefire" in there anymore...

It will NOT fit, but this being cpf and all, you can easily get it machined so that it would fit. Three members run boring services for around 40 dollars, they are bugsy714, Electronguru and precisionworks. Check their threads on the B/S/T subforum.
