i was wondering, is there a difference between the E1E and an E1E executive? if there is, what are the differences?
thanks

sol lavers

There is no difference.

The name of the E2e is the "Executive"
There are two "Executives" models - the E1e and E2e

There is also an E2o "Outdoorsman" varient and an E2d "Defender" varient.

However, there is a difference between the current E1E and E2E and the older, non-executive models, the E1 and E2. Those have a different bezel design, most notably the clip is on the bezel and not the body. But, Sol, that wasn't quite your question, so I'll stop now...

No, the discontinued E1 and E2 Executives were not the "Elite".

The full E1e and E2e are "Executive Elite".

The Elite revision to the Executive Series was significant in my opinion:

1) LockOut TailCap.
2) Strong PocketClip.
3) Pyrex lens.
4) Anti-roll bezel.
There are other smaller changes as well.

The first "E" means Executive.
The "1" or "2" means the number of SF123As.
The second letter is the version:
"e" Elite
"o" Outdoorsman
"d" Defender

Perhaps there will be others?!

As my first incand light do you think the E2e it is a good choice?, just thinking about from days ago, I think it is a versatile light that let you make different configurations like interchangeable bezels/beam lenses/batts etc.

simbad,

I think the E2e is a great way to start. If you are looking for the next step after that in terms of incand, I'd suggest the M3T.

Of course, you may have to buy yourself an L4 in the meanwhile...

Sorry, wrong word highlighted, meant "non-Elite models" rather than "non-Executive models." Thanks for the catch, Al.

I love the L4 but there's no one in the market at the moment, so,I will go for the E2e..
Cheers Al , good help /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
