Re: SureFire e-mail is NOT Spam

I agree it's not spam, but I still had a problem with it being filtered into my spam folder. It seems like a good special too if you are looking for a 6P.

Spam is defined as unsolicited advertising email. Unless they've changed the definition again, i'd have to say that its spam.

Opinion:

If one receives Unsolicited Commercial E-mail (UCE) one has received SPAM.

Even if one has a prior relationship with the business, unles you have REQUESTED them to send you e-mail or at the very least they offered a choice and you chose to let them contact you, it is SPAM.

Even if it's a great deal, its SPAM.

I receive commercial e-mail from a number of businesses I've done business with in the past. Most of them I have either checked (or not un-checked, usually) a box in an on-line form, or actually requested them to send me future information. I also receive commercial information from businesses I have not yet done business with.

This is fine so long as I have REQUESTED that they contact me. However, businesses that decide that they will contact me even if I did not request it get return e-mail from me complaining. It doesn't matter if I've done business with them before.

If a business I've dealt with in the past, and whom I've told "do not contact" on one or another form contact me, they go on my 'do not patronize' list.

What is SPAM and why do I object to paying for their advertising? Here, read this: CAUCE FAQ from a group we formed years ago on USENET.
