Can anyone tell me what the circumference of the U2A measures at the handle/battery holder. Also is there a way to remove the pocket clip?

Yes, you can easily remove the clip by removing the tailcap, then sliding the plastic cover off with your thumbs. the clip will come right out of it's groove.

the circumference is about 3.15" just below the selector ring, tailcap is 1" diameter but the middle of the body is around .91" diameter.

That's odd that the tail cap circumfrence doesn't match up with the body's circumfrence.

the tailcap is the same one used on the 1" body lights like the 6P and 9P.. the U2's body just has a little more shape to it :)
