I hope that it is as good as I read it is... Because only a few hours after receiving my E1e, the clickie died :(

Oh well, now we will see if they are just as easy in promising new tailcaps when mailing it across the big pond is involved :)

Hope things work out fine for you soon enough.

Maybe that's why they've preferred the tried and truly proven twisty switching eh?

Enjoy!

Hehehe... So instead of a broken clickie, I got a free upgrade to a twisty??
It broke down in the on position, so it works just fine as a twisty... Oh well, When my paycheck comes in I'm going to get me a L4, so this clickie could just be a nice host for the Mc2stage-kit-thingie :)

As I recall, another member recently had the same problem, and was informed by Surefire that they they were out-of-stock on Z57's at the moment. While I'm sure that you'll get a new one from SF, it may not arrive as quickly as you would like.

Mine broke just a few weeks ago and they sent me one within 12 days. YMMV.

It sounds like your clickie isn't broken, but just stuck in the on position. If you look around for other threads on fixing the tailcap you can probably resurrect it. Someone told me once that smacking the tailcap (on its side) against a wooden table might unstick the clickie.

ofcourse I did take a peek inside... it indeed gets stuck in the on position. It works again when I push back the insides, but as soon as it clicks again, it is stuck again too. It's like there is not enough pressure on the spring or something.

Anyway I've sent SF an email, so I'll just have to wait and see what they say about it. And although this might be a PITA, It's not the end of the world.. I have more lights to play with :naughty:

Just got a reply that they are going to send me a new tailcap :) Now lets see how long this will take...

...And today I finally received my new tailcap...

Only 2 1/2 months... with all the horror stories about the z57 being out of stock I didn't really expect to get it before october, so :twothumbs to Surefire customer service! they do what they promise, and faster than expected :)

That is simply amazing that anyone would wait 2.5 months for a warranty part and be happy about it. I guess that's a pretty good indicator of their brand loyalty.

Nothing to do with brand loyalty... I only own 2 SF lights, one of them runs a streamlight bulb... I'm just thankful that SF sent me a new tailcap, even if it took a while. Now I have a spare one, as the original one was fixed by following some advice found on cpf.
