Surefire X300, possible LED upgrade?

Is there any way to upgrade the LED in this thing? Used to a kuku XP-G tower or a XM-L on a xenoled and the X300 just isn't bright enough...

Saw a few X200 mods on here that I'd be interested in. Either swapping the LED or using a E1e incan head w/ a kuku XP-G tower.

My search fu really weak? Can't find any examples or reports on attempts.

Appreciate the info. I actually sent an email to him over his webpage but haven't received a reply. If this was a duty light I would go the route of purchasing from Dan. As it stands this is just for a personal piece. On top of that this is a mod I want to do so I'm curious if I have any options.

Is it as simple as heating the head and twisting with a strap wrench to disassemble? If I ever could get it disassembled can I replace whatever star is there with an equivalently sized XM-L star? Guessing I'm not lucky enough for whatever LED is in there now to have the same input specs as whatever a XM-L has...
