It sounds like you're comparing the Lexan windowed G2L bezel with the Pyrex windowed 6PD. Glass (Pyrex) is noticeably heavier than polycarbonate (Lexan).

So you're saying the G2L's aluminum bezel has a Lexan lens fit in, instead of Pyrex??

Yep the G2L has Lexan because it doesn't need Pyrex.
