I would like to make a poor-man's m4. I am under the impression that I can take my z3, add an A19 battery extender, a KT2 turbo-head, and an MN61 bulb. That would give me a 350 lumen z3(4) correct? The reason I am asking is that I want to be sure that all these parts are compatible before I order them online, as I don't really want to send mismatched parts back (hassle).

Any input would be appreciated.

Also just found the possibility that the N62 will fit that conversion also, allowing me 500 lumens. Please tell me it'll work, I wanna see 500 lumens from a light that small. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It will work just fine. The only problem with the Z3 is that you won't be able to use the grip rings properly with the A19 battery extension on it. If that isn't a concern you're in the money. I've done it with the 9P. Heck, with enough extensions you could start with a 3P. The D3 would be great also. I just put a poor man's "M4" together in brass with the brass UBH, 123 battery extension and E2C adapter with the KT1 turbo head. I went with the MN60 to save on batteries. Have fun!

You can remove a few of the smaller rings on the Z3 to shorten the grip. It's a little long, but I find myself using lights in the backhanded grip more often than the squeeze grip now. If I may suggest something: With all those parts you are investing in, add up the cost and see if you can't swing a 9P as well. Also remember that the non-Millenium turboheads aren't shock isolated.
