TA30 waterproof??

I dropped my fenix ta30 on the ground and got sand in the selector ring? Now does waterproof (this one is IPX8 by the way) mean that water DOES not get inside it? Or does water get inside it, but getting water in the selector ring not matter? Thank you.

So i take it you want to wash the sand out? You can as long as you don't keep is underwater for more that 15min to be safe.
