Was at Target today (Rochester, NY) so stopped by the flashlight department to see what I could see. There was the typical display of Inova lights, including two lines of X1s hanging. I have a Gen 1 spot light and a new Gen 3 2.0 watt, so imagine my delighted surprise to find a Gen 2 reflectored light looking very lonely at the back of one of the lines of lights. Of course, I had to buy it.

I get to the car, open up the package, press down on the switch...and nothing. No bluish wash of light to please the senses. just nothing. Oh, I must need to tighten the tailcap. Nope...tailcap is tight. Ah, so the battery is dead. Let's just open it up.

Only I can't. This thing is locked down tight! Can't get it to turn at all. At this point, I could just go back in and return it, but this is a Gen 2, and they are kind of hard to find anymore.

Long story short, I get it home and a couple of wrenches later get it opened to find what I suspected. The Duracell blew up and did a number on the tail threads. Let's just say that I have a scalloped tail instead of bezel . These things happen, but it kind of annoyed me as the same thing happened to my Electrolumes X3 a few weeks ago.

But all is well. I cleaned everything out and except for some intermittent issues with the push button switch, everything seems to be working.

Just thought I would share.
