Task Force 2C Optics?

I've seen a few posts about changing LEDs in the Task Force 3W 150 lumen light. How does the optic work with Q5 or R2 LEDs? Is this a worthwhile upgrade?

These lights have become a favorite of the maintenance shop I work with. We might get a mass conversion to the flashlight hobby if I could show a simple mod to make it brighter.
