Has anyone tried out the Tekcell CR123 batteries from countycomm? Are they nearly comparable with the Surefire/Energizer/Duracell bunch in output and duration? Awfully cheap (as low as $.75 each).

I have been burning through these like crazy, and even the small diff between the Tekcells and the Surefires would add up in price.

Thanx. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just saw a related thread ... disappointing, but enlightening.

There's been a couple other threads about them. They have a high DOA rate. The non-DOA work ok in normal 123 lights up to the level of the Surefire 6P/P60, E2e/MN03, etc. They don't do so well at super high currents, i.e. Sure P61.

If you're really using a lot of them, maybe you should be thinking about rechargeables, maybe Pila, maybe just switch lights. What lights are you burning so many 123's in?

These guys suffer a bit under load. I'd probably stay away from them in regards to flashlight use. Maybe great for photo, but not a constant-on light...

I have some extra Tekcells. I'm willing to donate one or two if somebody wants to do a runtime test in an 1W LED light or something of comparable power drain.

Just got some and ran them on an analyzer. They were not horrible, but they did not hit 1000mah capacity at 100mah load. The Sanyo CR123A came in at 1355mah. I have heard far worse on this forum but did not have but 2 to test. The second one is going right now 438mah and counting.
