I have two Tekna Mono Lith lights that I bought at an estate sale here about 2 years ago. (one dollar for both!)
They still each had the original Tekna single 123 lithium cell in them and surprisingly still had some life to them. I am guessing the name Mono-Lith is a take off on the use of a single lithium cell. Both of them still had what appeared to be the original bulb, and both worked, although dim. It was not until yesterday that I read another post here on CPF that someone was discussing Tek Tite Splash Lite where I read a reference to replacement bulbs for the Mono Lith.

Question: Is Tek Tite formally known as Tekna? I remember them being a big name in diving prodcuts back in the 80's including knives and diving lights.
Does anyone know about how old these little Mono Lith lights are?
They appear to be good quality and are marked USA. Although a little big for a keychain light, should make great pocket or wife's purse light.
I have some new #222 bulbs coming to me today or tomorrow, and fresh cells, so they should be back to original performance. Will post again when the bulbs arrive.

Tek-Tite is a separate company from Tekna but acquired some of the old Tekna stuff when Tekna went under.

The Mono-lith lights are from the 80's, I think. There was a #222 version (easy to get bulbs for) and a version that used tiny flange bulbs (you can buy those from Tek-tite).

Yeah, they are cute little lights. The midget flange bulb focuses pretty well and the Monolith with that bulb has adjustable focus similar to a Minimag but brighter.

If you have the #222 version, you can get a K222 krypton 600 mA bulb at Radio Shack that should be quite a bit brighter than a normal 222. However, I'd expect the midget flange version to have a better beam.

Hi Tekna Mono-Lith fanatics /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have one. I bought it a long time ago, I don't know exactly when. Could you say me what model it is, it have an adjustable focus, but no inscription on the reflector or on the bulb. Here a picture :

Thanks

If the bulb is about the size of a regular PR bulb but with a prefocused lens molded into the glass and with screw threads on the base, that's a #222 bulb which is a standard size that you can buy easily in stores.

If it's a tiny bulb about the size of a 5mm LED, that's the special midget flange bulb that (maybe) is more efficient than the #222 and (maybe) makes a better beam, but that you can only get from Tek-Tite.

Your picture doesn't show the bulb so there's no way to tell from it which one you have.
