Tektite Micro Fresnel Lense

Has anyone here had any experience with the new Tektite Micro Fresnel Lense (included now in their range of LED flashlights). When installed, should the textured side be face down on the LED's or should the smooth surface be face down on the LED's. (or does it not matter?)

I have a Expedition 300 with the fresnel lens. It does not seem to matter which side is up. I would place it such that the ridges in the lens are protected from damage, if damage were a possibility.

Hmm, that's interesting that you say that. There is most definitely a "sidedness" to fresnel lenses. Light going in the grooved side is focused down to a focal point some distance away from the smooth or plano side.

Turn the lens over and it will do the same thing.
