Based upon my amateurish research on the subject, I have come to the conclusion that I probably want to use 123 batteries in a flashlight to be kept in the car. I live in Missouri where the temperature will fluctuate from roasting in the summer to 12 degrees like tonight. What kind of damage does this do to the batteries? How does it decrease their runtime or life expectancy? If I am wrong on my choice of battery please let me know.
Thanks,
Jeff

I have 3 Battery Station 123A lithium disposable batteries in a modded Mag 3 C and a modded Brightstar 3 D that I have been carrying in my patrol car, as well as 2 of these batteries in a Pelican M6 and Dorcy Spyder that I wear on my duty belt.

It got down to about - 35 C last week when I was working, and the lights worked well (as well as the pass-around GL3R that was running 2 Pila 150A rechargeables). The Mag and Brightstar have been sitting in the car at the Detachment on my days off and I will check on them when I am back to work days on Tuesday.

Now, if I can only figure out how my boss can buy 123A lithium disposables batteries from Kevin at Battery Station...
