About my color test target/chart.
I made it about 20 years ago.Ingredients... The base is a Standard 8X10 Kodak 50% Gray Target (The reverse side is White). Then I mounted the Kodak Gray scale strip along one edge. Along the opposite edge I mounted real sample swatches from a range of Photographic Background paper's made by a company called Savage. The color samples in the middle are "easily confused" bright color pairs that often gave my film ( ...back then in the 80's ) a hard time. So you see it's an ideal - home-made 'quilt' of standard patches. I used to be a photographer and was very finicky about standardization,so I would test batches of Color Transparency film, Polaroid and the associated processing labs- using this target. After selecting the most accurate film batch- I'd buy cases and freeze the stash. Some very good color test targets are out there to be bought (Links below)..but hey, nothing beats a MOD right ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif .Here are some standard cards. I also own and use the Jobo target when on location shooting video or stills.
Jobo Color Control Card - Water proof $25.95

Kodak - $18.50 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=26662&is=REG
Kodak Gray Card - $14.95 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=213276&is=REG
You don't need them all but you need to see mostly the Gray, a patch of 100% black and a patch of 100% White. The color swatches tell a lot about which colors are being favored in the light sources spectrum.
Good luck !
Thanks for the links. I am aware of those products, I just have never seen them mounted all together in a shot.
I have a Kodak Professional Photoguide book that has a grey scale and a color fold out, but it is not for outdoor use. I think I will check out the Jobo card.

Your all set then . Why do you need a target for outdoor use? Photography? I don't really use the color target on shoot that much. Only the white card for ' White balancing' and the gray card to shoot a reference 'gray' before shooting everything else
