The Best HID-D2S

Forgive me if this is a redundant question. I searched CPF for hours now and didn't find a thread that answered this.



I have an 06 Nissan Murano with OE HID projectors. Im looking for a high-quality 35-watt D2S bulb. I realize there is no such thing as the best. You guys are the experts, so Im asking for your educated opinions.

glockxj, you've made a serious error on all three vehicles, and that is not sound advice you've given. "HID kits" in halogen-bulb headlamps or fog/auxiliary lamps (any kit, any lamp, any vehicle no matter whether it's a car, truck, motorcycle, etc.) do not work safely or effectively, which is why they are illegal. See here for detail. Advocating unsafe illegal activity (including unsafe illegal vehicle lighting modifications) isn't allowed on this board; I'm not a moderator or anything but if you keep it up sooner or later a mod will likely object.

The OP is asking about what the best replaceable light source in the D2S form factor is. He was not asking about the illegal, unsafe, and ineffective HID "kits" such as the ones you are describing.

I'd stick with a well-known brand such as Philips. Also, stay within the nominal road-legal CCT range of 4100-4250K. Higher corellated color temperature capsules produce less light; the light it does produce is harder for the human eye to process.

I find that the Osrams have a slight pink color right out of the box when compared to the Philips. We have too many problems with Osrams, I would never recommend those.

I can't fault a Philips, but I must say I really like the GE product. It's not as widely available, though.

I'm surprised that you post this kind of response considering he's looking for a stock fitment.
