Well not the "first cree arc mod :duh2:", been done plenty of times but this time I modded a #001 (get it? the first as in #1). The host is a Arc LSL-S #001. I had thought about leaving it stock and keeping it as a collectors, but im not a keep it on the shelf guy. Plus, the tint of this one was so nasty...

I used:
mineral glass lens
modified MRC18 (shaved some off the bottom to fit the cree)
Cree XR-E R2 neutral (4000k) (on the warmer side, sooo nice :naughty:)
original ARC board (but I doubled the current by adding an additional r15)
and a CR2 twisty tail (bombelman)

I mounted the xre first, then checked the current. I got about 420ma or so.. I wanted to push the xre to max so I decided to double it. After the resistor mod, I measure about 700ma with a CR2 and about 800ma with a 123 (primary cells)

This one turned out great, very bright, and beautifull neutral/warm color. The MCR18 gives the light great throw with a nice tight spot (great outside!) And the bombelman CR2 tail really makes this one a pocket rocket...

Hope you like
