However you can buy the duracells for 4+4 (=8 for mathematically challenged) at the same price. Which makes it only 34.5p per hour.
 
I'm sure you can buy all of them at significantly reduced prices, it's probably not a meaningful comparison to compare sale prices against regular prices. Duracell Ultra is missing, does it not exist in UK?
 
Forget costs, they're all relative anyway, and all can be bought discounted.

With a run-time of 2 hrs 30 mins, the doggies are drawing ~0.4C for the average cell here.

Results for higher and lower loads might well put some of the cells in a different order, although the Energizer Lithiums would remain at the top for performance - alkaline cells perform poorly under heavy loads.

This is a reasonable test and it is useful info - thanks for posting it.
