It's been a while since I checked in here, my wife was diagnosed with cancer early last year. I quit my job to care for her and we decided to move to Scottsdale to be close to her physicians. This past year+ has been a roller coaster and has taken me away from my flashlight hobby but things do seem different here on the forums. Keep posting Vinh, we are still around bud, just a bit quiet lately.

I have a light from Vinh. I carry it daily on my early morning walks. Works well. I hope he will continue to post. We have to make decisions best for our situation in life.

Yes, not sure how many members here saw Vinh´s threads; a lot of informative posts mixed in there, certainly with regard to emitters.
CPF member twistedraven is another person who has great knowledge and perspective. Wishing he would weigh in.

With times like they are, considering Vinh's young family, might be a good time to think about a job that offers future security for him and his family.
I can't imagine modding flashlights will ever gain him enough security for comfortable retirement..

But what do I know, I'm only a stupid biker

ONE-OFF Acebeam H30vn Headlamp V SPEC R
  • Primary LED: XHP50.3 HI 4500K 90CRI = Extra throw over factory 70.2 HD with much improved beam and HCRI while lowering overall heat output
  • 1st Secondary: Nichia 519a 4500K DD 90CRI = Warmer 3500K tint with more forward lumen
  • 2nd Secondary: SST10 UV 365nm = Even if you don't have a real use for UV its fun
  • Check out the beam shots to see how well rounded this headlight is
  • 21700 5100mAh included for serious long working time
  • Some time has passed and I still think this is the best long runtime headlamp in existence
  • Built in USB-C charging
  • Spare 21700 cells here
  • Cons: A bit hefty so its not suitable for running.

Please provide some details on the performance. I'm trying to talk myself into one.

For me, I am seeing a resurgence. I have replaced several older flashlights and have expanded my use cases. I need more light as I get older! I see indications of infrastructure failures and the need to be better prepared.

I think some UI systems are too complex and need a level-headed hand to fix them.
I do not understand why we cannot always have good color rendition.
An overstatement in lumins or battery performance seems to be growing.

We need folks with a long-term sense here!

If you ever held a 1oz gold coin you will realized how massive this LED MBPCB is. Surely the thickest and heftiest yet.
