Is the Surefire E2e body with the new VME head become the “Slimline C2”?
The introduction of the Malkoff Valiant Concepts VME Head now allows for the use of D26 LED dropin’s on the E series bodies. This head assembly will convert any SureFire E Series light to use a Malkoff Devices M series dropin lamp assembly (and other LED dropins).
I just received my first VME head from Gene Malkoff. I installed it and an M60 LED on my L4 body. The integration of the head to the body is smooth, unlike the to E to C adaptors previously available. The VME head makes the E2e only slightly larger than the stock E2e.
I couldn’t help but put my C2 with M60 alongside this new VME head on my L4 as a comparison. Same brightness, same runtime, both type III finish but the VME head on the E2e is a much smaller overall package.
Could this new setup replace my C2 as my favorite carry light? This VME head is a keeper for me. It’s my new Slimline C2! I just wish it was available in HAIII.
