I have a TK35 and I like it, 2*18650 in a nice form factor, forward clicky and extra mode button, very good performance.
Since some weeks ago, cheap clones are available from the typical Chinese sites - I couldn't resist and got one.
Body quality isn't that bad, but as expected, performance was lacking (about 2/3 of TK35's), it had no memory, making the forward clicky more or less non-tactical (always low when switched on) and it had quite noticeable PWM. But I didn't intend to use it as is anyway.
I replaced the LED by a neutral white T6 3C, changed the battery setup to parallel, desoldered all components of the driver to make space for a NANJG105C 8*AMC7135 with a 9th AMC7135 piggybacked for 3.15A. (Here's an image: http://picz.to/image/gfs)
Result: Performance is only a few percent below the original TK35's, but with a nicer tint.
The standard driver of course doesn't support the mode button, so I reprogrammed the driver to use it; now I have a user interface that's even better than the TK's (matter of taste though):
Two main modes (switched by short taps of the mode button), plus ramping (long presses); strobe and beacon as hidden extended modes, and a battery indicator (number of blinks) at the begin of beacon mode.
I went on and programmed a firmware for the NANJG105C driver suited for lights with only an electronic switch (like the Zebras) with a similar mode structure (plus 'off' of course), plus a momentary ('tactical') mode.
You can switch it on in four ways: short click->previous mode, long press->ramp-up, double-click->high, triple-click->strobe (or whatever else I configure). Now I'm waiting for the UF-T50 I ordered to use this in. Can report then if someone's interested.
