Thermally conductive epoxy question

Hi
I got a load of this stuff (MG chemicals thermally conductive epoxy). I will be using it to encapsulate drivers into heatsinks. I was wondering if it is good enough to mount emitters to heatsinks also. It says on the jar .682w/m-k. I know AA epoxy has a way higher rating though.
Anyone have experience with this?

If you can apply it as a very thin layer I'm sure it would work fine. I don't even use AATA. I use alumina oxide powder mixed with epoxy. Although I'm sure it's not as great as AATA but I've been using this mix for years & never had any issues. I use the thinnest layer possible & I'm able to apply a thinner layer than I can with AATA.

Hmm, so it's black? So is this specifically for potting? Is it the stuff that is a bit rubbery after it cures? If it is maybe it may not be that great for attaching emitters?
 
I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it dries hard. It just takes a long time... Its black
 
is it black because of the whole black takes on IR (heat) better than any other 'color'... ?
 
Better play it safe. Use the proven and tested heatsink adhesive. Does your application demand epoxy strength or just desire it?
 
I think the reason its black is for neatness (so you cant see inside). I want to totally encapsulate boards and wires making them indestructable so strength is important.
