Just for grins and giggles......has anyone else performed any runtime plots and or brightness measurments?

I got a runtime of 44 minutes to 50% of max brightness with my Thor.

The runtime plot was performed with the Thor 27 feet away from the lightmeter detector. To get the brightness (Fc @ 1 Ft) I took the starting brightness of the runtime plot, and multiplied that (1,169 Fc@1Ft) by the square of the distance (27Ft x 27Ft = 729) which gives a brighness of 852,201 Fc@1Ft!
The measurment was done in the brightest part of the beam.

Anyone come close to those numbers?

What impressed me was that at 27 feet, you could feel the heat coming from the light beam!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wow.gif

Roy,

I think we have different light meters so OMMV a little /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif, I checked the 50W HID Blitz at 27 feet tonight using a LM631 light meter set to the X10 foot candle scale and it read 310 FC.

I will let you do the math it's not my strong piont /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I may be able to get a little more out of it using the focus I had it set to long throw and the beam looks to culminate a little farther than 27 Ft. So I don’t think I had the hot spot just right. Run time Eh' a hour give or take a little /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, all mine have been modded, but at 3X, you can feel the heat for quite a distance.

I tried the 100W NELCO, Wilkey Mag85, 6V Dorsey and 6V John light to night at 30 Ft. on the X10 scale and I'm not sure about my readings they all were in the 30 plus Lux range /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

They came up a littlt short for what they should have done....I will try them again tomorrow night after they have had a full charge just to make sure /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The HID Blitz rang in at 325 Lux on best focus or 3250 Lux at 30 Ft.
