Thoughts on these batteries?

I just received one of these batteries with my laser pointer from BG.com.

TrustFire TR 16340 880mAh 3.7V Rechargeable

It doesnt seem that these are protected in any way so should I be worried about charging and discharging this unit?

It mostly depends on the charger. A bad charger can damage any battery, good or bad...

I have the solarforce two position charger. Should I be worrying about how much I discharge the battery while I'm using it in the laser? I know the charger will cutoff and turn green once the battery is full. It works perfect with my protected solarforce RCR123 cell.

I just need to know if I should be worrying about this unprotected cell. It will be going into a single cell laser.

I don't have any experience in monitoring output voltage or anything like that.

Should I just trash it and get a protected cell of better namebrand?

If it were me, I would trash it and get a cell from AW. He doesn't manufacturer cells, but at least he seems to vet them well and source from reputable suppliers.
