What is the best/way to really get those flashlight threads cleaned? What do you guys use & how to do it without thread damage? I mean like thick gunk in the threads. Thanks!

Stiff toothbrush ... toothpick ... or a small brush with brass fibers ... is what I use.

(Don't over-clean the thread areas that are anodized , you will remove the electrical insulation qualities and no longer have unscrewed tailcap lock-out ability)
.

(Don't know why I'm helping you ? - You're the source of my allergies ... ragweed !)

Thanks! I got ragweed allergy as well, thats why I chose ragweed as a user name.

I use alcohol wipes and lint free paper towels. The alcohol isn't very agressive but does a decent job of removing old gunk. I then use the lint free towel to finish and the threads get nice and shiny before applying your favorite lube.

I normally use a tissue - just dig the corner of my thumbnail in over a few layers for full contact and unscrew the offending thread.

toothpicks/cocktail sticks are too fiddly.
