Illuminated
Enlightened
This past weekend, I took four days from my insane work schedule to celebrate a 20th annivesary with my wife. She made all the arrangements, rented a beautiful cabin, and signed us up with some pros for an introductory lesson in "trad" climbing at Red River Gorge in KY (a climbers' haven). It was an outstanding experience.
While travelling to "The Fortress" for our climbing lessons and getting to know each other a bit, the wife spurted out that I was a flashaholic, and that I even had a flashlight (Tigerlight) that "could burn the fur off a rabbit's a$$ from fifty yards!" Our guides were amused...
Later that evening when we returned for dinner at the proprieter's hostel, He asked if I had brought it with me. "Why, of course" I said, and went to the car to get it for him.
As he was being "wowed" by such a light on the front porch, someone else mentioned that they wished that annoying street light could be turned off. Being an electrical engineer, I deduced that since most lights are controlled via a photoswitch circuit of some sort, it might be possible to...
...so the man pointed the Tigerlight at the streetlight across the street - and "Bink" - in went out!
The funniest part of this story is that I emailed him yesterday to thank him, and said "hope your street light is OK..." - and he replied that it is still confused and hasn't yet recovered!
This was just too funny to me, so I thought I'd share the story... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
