Hope you enjoy the set up.

My business building is a single story old concrete bunker (circa 1953) with a huge, 80% unpaved parking lot. It's a great old spot, but a little scary to newcomers. The location is not the worst, but it's a little off the beaten track for being so close to the city. My neighbor sharing the building is a import mechanic. I'm a Wood Rat (glorified box maker) Together, we occupy 18,000 feet and there's an unsaid rule that when one is away, the other keeps an eye on the place. Over the years a few friends pitch in and look in on the place as well.

One guy who visits quite often is a Wrecker driver who feeds my neighbor business and sometimes just hangs around between calls. He's also one of those types that always has a smile and a laugh ready to go. One recent subject is about a big weed buildup to the right of my office that the local cops have been bugging us to fix (guess they're getting bored) overgrown, ratty ground, etc. He mentioned he could fix it with one the many CAT shovels he transports for a contractor. Apparently he gets free access when he needs one. Very nice idea, but I was a little reluctant to get into how much for his time, so I said we'll talk about it. Now, we're not what I'd call close friends by a long shot, but we do tend to hang out in the lot and have a laugh on a regular basis. Two other business owners close by tend to just walk in to our offices at will. We all treat each others space like a community and so does the driver. One Saturday not long ago, he decides to just show up with the above mentioned CAT and go to work on the lot. 2 hours later it was looking great, and all worries of the cops gracing me with a 500.00 fine to get me off my butt were gone. Wow, couldn't believe he did it, but it's just one of those times when someone is being civilized and helps out. Looked like a lot of trouble to me, but he waived it off like it was nothing.

In addition to the few topics not about Women or the fine art of political BullS&it is lights and why he doesn't own a modern LED. I talked the mechanic into one a few years ago, and he's hooked. The two of us always try to talk the Driver into buying one. His Cab is full of toys - computer, 110ac, GPS, etc. so why not a cool light? There's a 3D antique beater and some cheap excuse for a small light that's just an embarrassing item in general. You get the idea. Time for a new addition and a perfect way to reciprocate.

A Fenix PD35, 2 bay charger, 18650 and a few 123s await the next hang out, BS session. Should be fun ;)
