I have a Streamlight PolyTac LED

HP of unknown vintage whose beam pattern currently looks like this. Is this indicative of a diode going out/burned out? Batteries had been replaced twice since noticing diminished output

They had a similar issue with their 7 l.e.d. PolyPro 4AA. L.e.d.s popped one by one staring after about the first battery change. They did a horrible job matching the required l.e.d. voltage to battery voltage. Drove the l.e.d.s too hard and cooked them to death in no time at all. The one watt l.e.d.s are a little more durable than the 5 mm ones. Looks like overdriving the l.e.d. might be burning the phosphor coating on the chip. I suggest pick a different light. This one was a failure from the start.
