Can I run Energizer 2500 mah rechargeables in this light without damaging it.

I know everyone hates Energizers, but I have a bunch of them that I bought long before I found this forum, so I might as well use them in something.

No problem, you van run Alkalines (though not recommended), any sort of NiMh as long as they have 1,5 Volt nominal or even Energizer L91 (should be OK despite 1,7 Volt out of the package). Just beware of 14500, they would frie the light with a top voltage of 2 x 4,2V...

Why do you think your Energizer could damage the light?

Fast response, thanks. All of the different battery types other than the common ones confuse me. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't damaging my light. Especially because most on this board don't like Energizer 2500's

The energizer 2500 are in low consideration in the forums because they tend to die in a pretty short time (or having such high self discharge that you will need to recharge them everyday), not that they damage flashlights. The damage thing is "thanks to" leaking alkalines.

I never heard anything bad about energizers.
Which are bad?
Which are good?
What is now recommended?
Thanks!

My father bought himself a TK20 with his clothing allowance last year and he ran Energizer NiMh's in it for a good few months. He had no problem other than the high self discharge. Just buy yourself some AA eneloops (rechargeable's without the high self discharge) and be done with it!

Lol, seems my reply caused a bit of panic here :eek:oo:

Just use the "google search" with the terms energizer 2500. BTW, I did not have problems with them personally, but I did not use a NiMH energizer ever. I am not trying to bash any brand, but after reading lots of complaints I thought a warning was worth.

The Energizer 2500 were full of fail for me. The Duracell 2650 worked out ok but got 2 bad ones in my TK20 and these wouldn't hold a charge for more than a week. I now use Duraloops in the TK20 and everything is great. The Energizer 2450 worked in my Apex headlamp and L2D-Q5 but never used these in the TK20. Have not used the Lithium Energizers yet i the TK20 but guessing it will happen this winter.

Do a search on Energizer rechargable batteries. There have been a number of people complain about the fast self discharge of the Energizers, myself included.

However (to the OP's question) there have not been any reports (that I've read) of these batteries damaging any devices. So go ahead and use your Engergizers in your TK-20. Just make sure you check your light if you leave it set for week(s) at a time. I use Eneloops in mine with great success.
