I just picked one up and while the box says it has an R2, the instructions say it has a Q5. Did they change the box but not update the manual?

Also, it has pos and neg marked on the side. No reverse polarity protection?

It has a physical reverse polarity protection. That's what the two raised ares next to the positiver terminal are.

I can't say for sure but it would seem to me that they would not update the manual for an emitter change. The light operates the same regardless of what you put in there.

The box has a sticker on it with the emitter type, doesn't it?

Yeah, the box has an R2 sticker on it. I guess it would make sense to not redo manual and print on the box when emitters are changing/upgrading so much. The sun is finally setting and after playing around with it in a darkened room I'm sure its an R2. This is my first one and I had to do some reading and comparison to beam shots.

The reverse polarity wasn't a big concern for me. I know how to feed a flashlight, but it just seemed odd to mark it like that. Now I know.

Thanks guys!
